## Synopsis

Miss Sherlock (2018) is a Japanese crime mystery limited series for HBO Asia and Hulu, a single eight-episode season of one-hour episodes. Sara Shelly Futaba (Yuko Takeuchi) is a guarded investigation consultant, born in Britain and now working with the police in Tokyo, who does not open her heart to strangers. Her partner is Dr. Tachibana Wato (Shihori Kanjiya), an excellent surgeon guided by a firm principle of justice. The two come to know each other through a case and slowly begin to rely on one another, while detective Reimon (Kenichi Takitoh) and others from the department move the investigations forward. The engine is a steady run of crimes that test Sara's detachment and Wato's conscience, with each episode built around a fresh puzzle and the deductive method that defines the show. Its tone is measured and contemplative, with an intimate, character-led atmosphere that rewards patience. Set in present-day Tokyo, it sits within the tradition of Japanese detective television and will appeal to viewers who enjoy the cerebral pleasures of Sherlock and the partnership dynamics of Bones.
