## Synopsis

Legacies (2018-2022) is an American supernatural teen drama created by Julie Plec for The CW, a spin-off within the world of The Vampire Diaries. Set at the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted, a boarding school where witches, vampires and werewolves are trained to master their powers and resist their worst impulses, the series follows Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell), a seventeen-year-old daughter of a legendary vampire, alongside Alaric Saltzman (Matthew Davis) and his twin daughters Lizzie (Jenny Boyd) and Josie (Kaylee Kaneshiro). Hope's engine is the struggle to define herself beyond her parentage while the school's teachers and students pull her toward heroism and away from villainy. Each episode mixes classroom life, romantic tangles and monster-of-the-week threats with a longer mythology arc that stretches across four seasons and sixty-eight episodes. The tone is earnest and playful, with a warm affection for its ensemble and a steady sense of adolescent anxiety. Its tone and structure will appeal to fans of The Vampire Diaries, Charmed and Harry Potter who want young characters navigating magic, loyalty and identity in a contemporary American setting.
