## Synopsis

Hidden Worlds (2018) is an Egyptian television drama series created by Ramy Imam and produced by Synergy, a mystery thriller set in contemporary Egypt. Prominent writer Helal Kamel, played by Adel Emam, finds confidential documents that incriminate government officials and must decide whether to publish them, knowing the decision could cost him his life and endanger his family. Salah Abdallah plays Diraz Abu al-Maatay, and Fathy Abdel Wahab plays Colonel Raouf, among other principal figures whose loyalties shift as the investigation tightens. The engine of the series is the slow, dangerous pursuit of proof: each episode follows the writer's private diary entries, meetings with contacts, and the pressure applied by officials and criminal networks around him. Told across a single season of thirty episodes, the story moves as one continuing investigation rather than a case of the week. The atmosphere is tense and paranoid, with a moral weight that grows as the household is drawn into the conflict. Fans of House of Cards and Narcos will find resonance in its corruption exposés and its portrait of ordinary people facing powerful institutions. The series offers a grounded, dialogue driven look at press freedom and the cost of truth in a politically constrained society.
