## Synopsis

When Heroes Fly (2018) is an Israeli Keshet 12 drama series created by Omri Givon and produced by Spiro Films, a single-season limited series of nine hour-long episodes. Tomer Capone plays Aviv Danino, one of four former Special Forces veterans who have not spoken in eleven years. Moshe Ashkenazi plays Yakir 'Benda' Ben-David, Michael Aloni plays Dotan 'Himler' Friedman, and Nadav Nates plays Dov 'Dubi' Ashkenazi, the men who reunite for one final mission to find Yaeli, played by Ninet Tayeb, a former lover of one of them and the sister of another. The engine of the story is a rescue expedition pushed deep into the Colombian jungle, where danger and logistics test the group, but the real obstacle is the unresolved trauma of their shared past. Each episode alternates the present-day trek with fragments of the unit's history, so the search and the memories build together. The tone is grim, tense and emotionally raw, with drug-tinged menace and the claustrophobic heat of the forest. Fans of Tropa de Elite, Band of Brothers and Tyrant will find resonance in its portrait of damaged soldiers, brotherhood and the cost of war carried home.
