## Synopsis

Take Two (2018) is a American network dramedy created by Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller for ABC. Rachel Bilson plays Sam Swift, a former star of a hit cop series whose very public breakdown lands her in rehab, and who then talks her way into shadowing Eddie Valetik (Eddie Cibrian), a lone-wolf private investigator in Los Angeles. Eddie resents the babysitting assignment, but Sam, desperate to restart her career, uses the skills she learned acting as a television detective to prove unexpectedly useful on his cases. The engine is simple: a reluctant investigator, a restless actress researching a comeback, and a steady flow of case-of-the-week mysteries that mix in celebrity bruises and fish-out-of-water awkwardness. Xavier de Guzman and Alice Lee round out the supporting cast in the office and field work. The single thirteen-episode season runs about forty-two minutes per episode and was canceled after its first run. The tone is light, sweet and breezy, a show that asks little of the viewer and lets the actors carry the charm. Fans of Castle and Moonlighting will find a similar blend of banter, mismatched partnership and procedural play.
