## Synopsis

The Hollow (2018-2020) is a Canadian animated fantasy series created by Josh Mepham, Kathy A. Rocchio, Vito Viscomi and Greg Sullivan for Netflix. Three teenagers, Mira (voiced by Ashleigh Ball), Kai (voiced by Connor Parnall) and Adam (voiced by Adrian Petriw), wake up in a strange realm and work together to find a way back home. Their engine is a steady pull toward home against a landscape of magic portals, perplexing puzzles and vicious beasts, with each episode built around a new obstacle they must reason through as a team. The show runs for two seasons and twenty episodes of roughly twenty-five minutes each, following one continuing journey rather than standalone stories. Its tone is adventurous and playful, with a mystery-tinged sense of wonder and a light touch of danger that keeps younger viewers engaged. Themes of friendship, loyalty and problem solving under pressure run through the story. Fans of Adventure Time, Gravity Falls and Wizards of Waverly Place will find familiar pleasures here, in an accessible, family-friendly animated world.
