## Synopsis

Black Monday (2019-2021) is a US Showtime comedy series created by David Caspe and Jordan Cahan. Set in 1980s Manhattan during the lead-up to the October 1987 stock market crash, it follows Maurice 'Mo' Monroe (Don Cheadle), a scheming trader who leads a band of outsiders against the blue-blood old-boys club of Wall Street. Andrew Rannells plays Blair Pfaff, Regina Hall plays Dawn Darcy, and Paul Scheer plays Keith Shankar, each pursuing their own angle on money, status and ambition. The engine of the show is the constant hustle: deals to close, rivals to outmaneuver, and excess to fund, from Lamborghini limousines to lavish parties, all while the market heads toward disaster. Across three seasons of ten half-hour episodes each, the series stays a single continuing story with an irreverent, glossy, cocaine-fueled energy, a comedic take on eighties greed that still carries a sense of fragile gamble. Its tone is breezy and sardonic, with moments of sincere personal stakes beneath the excess. Fans of Wolf of Wall Street, Mad Men and Ballers will find resonance in its blend of period flair and money-driven ambition.
