## Synopsis

Sirius the Jaeger (2018) is a Japanese animated supernatural action series in anime form, set in the imperial Tokyo of the 1930s. It follows a clandestine group of hunters who call themselves Jaegers and who secretly track vampires pursuing the Ark of Sirius. Among them is the young werewolf Yuliy, whose hybrid nature places him uneasily between the monsters and the people hunting them. Principal characters include Agatha, voiced by Sayaka Ohara, Kershner, voiced by Takehito Koyasu, and Mikhail, voiced by Takahiro Sakurai, each drawn into the covert struggle for the Ark. The engine of the story is a race through shadowed streets, hidden bases and fraught alliances, with each episode built around a hunt, a skirmish, or a revelation about the artifact. Produced by P.A.WORKS for AT-X, TOKYO MX, Tulip Television and BS11, the single season runs twelve episodes of roughly twenty-three minutes each and ends on an open question rather than a settled conflict. The mood is moody and atmospheric, mixing gothic menace with brisk action and a melancholy, shadowy palette. Fans of Hellsing Ultimate and Castlevania will find resonance in its blend of period dread, monster hunting and stylish violence.
