## Synopsis

How Not to Summon a Demon Lord is a Japanese animated isekai fantasy comedy adapted from a light novel and produced across two seasons. A legendary online game player known as the demon lord is summoned to a fantasy world in his avatar form. Two girls who each believe they summoned him try to enslave him with a beast-control spell, only to have his overwhelming Magic Reflect ability turn it back on them. A small circle of companions gathers around the adventure as he tries to get by on bluster while his power keeps upending every scheme aimed at him. Each episode is a brisk, self-contained romp of skirmishes, mishaps, and fanservice-tinged banter. The mood is breezy, irreverent and lightly comic, with a self-aware sense of fantasy power and an easygoing warmth. Fans of Konosuba, The Rising of the Shield Hero and Sword Art Online will find a similar appetite for overpowered heroes and game-world adventure, and a series that is easy to dip into and enjoy without heavy stakes.
