## Synopsis

The Founder of Diabolism (2018-2021) is a Chinese animated xianxia fantasy series created by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu and produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures, streaming on Tencent Video. Across three seasons and thirty-five episodes, it follows Wei Wuxian (voiced by Ajie), a feared outlaw who wakes in another man's body and is pulled into a tense partnership with the proud Lan Wangji (voiced by Jiang Bian), his longtime rival. Together they investigate restless spirits, corpse-raising cults and sect-level conspiracies, while Jiang Cheng (voiced by Guo Haoran) and Jin Ling (voiced by Su Shangqing) complicate loyalties and old wounds. Each arc works as a self-contained ghost case, yet the bigger engine is the slow excavation of Wei Wuxian's buried past, revealed through shifting timelines and memories. Swordplay and supernatural set pieces give way to quieter scenes of grief and reconciliation. The tone is brooding and wry, with melancholic undercurrents and moments of dark humor. Fans of xianxia epics, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Scum Villain's Self-Saving System will find resonance in its mix of martial action, moral ambiguity and rivalry turned loyalty.
