## Synopsis

Insatiable (2018-2019) is a Netflix dark comedy drama created by Lauren Gussis, running two seasons across twenty-two episodes before its cancellation. Debby Ryan plays Patty Bladell, a bullied teenager who turns to beauty pageants to exact revenge on the classmates who tormented her. Dallas Roberts plays Bob Armstrong, a disgraced lawyer turned pageant coach who soon finds himself in over his head as Patty's schemes escalate. Alyssa Milano plays Coralee Armstrong, adding a sharp counterweight to the pageant world's ambitions. Each episode is built around competitions, family tensions and high school cruelty, with Patty's plans growing more reckless as the stakes rise. Set in a small Southern American town, the show blends satirical pageant culture with a bitingly absurd tone, sometimes uncomfortable, sometimes outrageous. Its mix of revenge fantasy, body image anxiety and crime-tinged complications gives it a prickly, unapologetic register. Viewers who enjoy the caustic social satire of Heathers, the wry outsider energy of Rushmore and the morally tangled comedy of Dead to Me will find much to chew on here.
