## Synopsis

Lodge 49 (2018-2019) is an American dramedy with mystery undertones created by Jim Gavin for AMC. Wyatt Russell plays Sean 'Dud' Dudley, a charming but aimless former surfer who joins a fraternal order in Los Angeles hoping to recover the easy happiness he lost when his father died. Brent Jennings plays Ernie Fontaine, a fellow member whose steady warmth anchors the group, while Sonya Cassidy plays Liz Dudley and Linda Emond plays Connie Clark, both drawn into the lodge's orbit. The engine of the series is Dud's search for purpose: he takes on odd jobs, chases half-explained clues, and gets pulled deeper into the lodge's rituals and its alchemical undercurrents. Each episode blends small comic mishaps with quiet, melancholy reflection on grief, friendship and belonging. Across two seasons of ten episodes each, the story moves forward as one continuing thread rather than a case-of-the-week format, with mysteries left deliberately ajar. Set in present-day Southern California, the show has a sun-bleached, hazy atmosphere and a wistful, offbeat register. Fans of Twin Peaks, The Big Lebowski and Parks and Recreation will find resonance in its eccentric community, dry humor and gentle surrealism.
