## Synopsis

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2018-2020) is an American animated superhero comedy created by Andy Suriano and Ant Ward for Nickelodeon. Its heroes are the four mutant turtle brothers Raph, Leo, Donnie and Mikey, voiced by Omar Benson Miller, Ben Schwartz, Josh Brener and Brandon Mychal Smith, who are guided by their mentor Splinter (Eric Bauza) and allied with reporter April O'Neil (Kat Graham). The engine of the show is simple: the brothers uncover a Hidden City beneath New York, learn mystic ninja skills and new powers, and fight absurd mutant villains while squabbling as siblings. Each episode is a brisk, self-contained action romp, with the boys always finding time for pizza between battles. The series runs two seasons across seventy short episodes of roughly eleven minutes and was canceled after its second season. Its look is bright, bold and cartoonish, and its mood is breezy, playful and comforting, a sugary update for young viewers. Fans of the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Ben 10 will find a similar blend of ninja action and kid-friendly humor.
