## Synopsis

Single Parents (2018-2020) is an American network sitcom created by J. J. Philbin and Elizabeth Meriwether for ABC. Taran Killam plays Will, a recently widowed father who leans on a circle of fellow single parents, including Leighton Meester as Angie, Kimrie Lewis as Poppy and Brad Garrett as Douglas, to raise their seven-year-old children while trying to hold onto romance, friendship and careers. The engine of the show is the daily scramble of school runs, playdates, awkward dates and shared childcare, with the adults often colliding over who gets to be a person outside parenthood. Each episode is a self-contained comedy built around a single domestic problem, and the series ran for two seasons and forty-five episodes before its cancellation. Set in a contemporary American city, it has a warm, breezy, multi-camera-style comedic energy, with an emphasis on found family and gentle humor about exhaustion and reinvention. Viewers who enjoy Modern Family and other ensemble family comedies will find a similar sense of affectionate chaos and camaraderie.
