## Synopsis

Rosario Tijeras (2010) is a Colombian crime romance telenovela created by Jorge Franco Ramos for RCN. Set in Medellin, it follows the legendary Rosario Tijeras, played by María Fernanda Yepes, a fierce young woman raised in a slum who becomes a hitwoman. Architect Antonio de Bedut (Andres Sandoval) rushes her to a hospital after she has been shot four times, and as he waits for her to survive he recalls how she caught his attention and became his obsession. Sebastián Martínez plays Emilio Echegray, the other wealthy young man drawn into her orbit, and Luis Eduardo Motoa plays the menacing figure Adonai El Rey de los Cielos. The single season of sixty hour-long episodes weaves the bedside present with the past, moving between the violent underworld of the barrios and the polished comfort of the upper city. The engine is a tangle of desire, loyalty, and the pull of criminal life, with each episode adding another layer to the romance. The tone is melodramatic and feverish, saturated with doomed passion and ambient danger, while the telenovela tradition gives it soap-opera intensity. Fans of Betty la fea, Narcos, and Pablo Escobar el patron del mal will find resonance in its blend of romance, crime, and class-divided Colombian drama.
