## Synopsis

Sabrina: The Animated Series (1999-2000) is an American animated family comedy created by Savage Steve Holland and Kat Likkel and broadcast on ABC and UPN. It is an animated prequel to the live-action sitcom Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and follows twelve-year-old Sabrina Spellman, a girl who is half mortal and half witch. Voiced by Emily Hart, Sabrina tries to keep her powers secret from her mortal uncle Quigley (voiced by Jay Brazeau), who keeps warning her not to use magic to solve her problems. Her talking black cat companion Salem Saberhagen (voiced by Nick Bakay) and her friend Harvey Kinkle (voiced by Bill Switzer) often find themselves pulled into the trouble she creates. Each episode is a self-contained lark built around borrowed spells from the Spookie Jar and the small social disasters of middle school life. The single season runs sixty-five half-hour episodes. Its tone is light, playful and breezy, in the spirit of Hey Arnold! and The Fairly OddParents, fans of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch will find the same cozy sitcom warmth and comic magic. Family viewing suits it well.
