## Synopsis

Living with Yourself (2019) is an American dark comedy science fiction series created by Timothy Greenberg for Netflix. Paul Rudd stars as Miles Elliot, a burned-out man who undergoes a strange procedure at a strip mall spa and wakes to find he has been replaced by a better version of himself. Aisling Bea plays his wife Kate, who must navigate the upgraded husband while the original Miles struggles to reclaim his life and marriage. Ali Akbar Sepahi plays David, a supporting figure tied to the procedure's strange world. The engine of the show is the uneasy rivalry between the two Miles, each wanting the same life, and the question of which one deserves it. The series is a single eight-episode season of roughly 25 minute episodes, a contained limited series with a serialized story. Its tone is deadpan, introspective and melancholic, with ordinary suburban settings giving way to surreal moments. Fans of Maniac, Barry and Black Mirror will find resonance in its blend of midlife despair, absurd premise and quiet emotional sting. Set in contemporary American suburbia, the show treats depression, marriage and self-reinvention with dry, unsentimental humor.
