## Synopsis

V Wars (2019) is a Canadian-American science fiction horror series created by William Laurin and Glenn Davis for Netflix. Ian Somerhalder stars as Dr. Luther Swann, a scientist whose quest to understand a mysterious blood disease that turns ordinary people into vampires collides with his estranged best friend Michael Fayne (Adrian Holmes), who has become a powerful vampire leader. Kaylee Vo (Jacky Lai) and Danika Dubov (Kimberly-Sue Murray) round out the principal cast as figures caught in the spreading outbreak. The engine of the ten-episode season is a race to contain a contagion while the two former friends pursue opposing ends, with each episode built around lab findings, government containment efforts, and violent confrontations as the infected population grows. Rather than a teen romance, the show grounds its vampirism in clinical detail and epidemiological dread, giving it a serious, bleak, and tense register. Its tone is claustrophobic and paranoid, with a pandemic thriller pulse. Fans of 30 Days of Night and The Strain will find resonance in its blend of outbreak anxiety and monstrous transformation. The series was canceled after one season, leaving its central conflict unfinished.
