## Synopsis

Mrs. Fletcher (2019) is a US HBO adult comedy-drama limited series created by Tom Perrotta. Kathryn Hahn plays Eve Fletcher, a newly divorced empty nester who reinvents her life in pursuit of the sexual fulfillment and personal freedom that eluded her during her marriage. Jackson White plays her college freshman son Brendan, whose own first year away from home runs in parallel with his mother's reawakening. Owen Teague appears as Julian Spitzer, a figure tied to Brendan's world at school, while Casey Wilson and Jen Richards round out the supporting circle of friends and acquaintances. The engine of the show is Eve's restless campaign to reclaim desire on her own terms, with each episode built from awkward dates, frank conversations, online and social entanglements, and the uncomfortable collisions between a parent's new life and a child's. The seven half-hour episodes form a single, tightly focused arc that treats midlife sexuality with candor and humor rather than caution. The tone is sardonic and bittersweet, mixing cringe comedy with a sincere undercurrent about loneliness and self-discovery. Set in present-day American suburbia, it recalls the domestic satire of Divorce and the adult candor of Girls, and suits viewers who enjoy frank, character-driven comedy about later-life change.
