## Synopsis

Proven Innocent (2019) is a US network legal drama created by David Elliot for FOX, and it was canceled after a single thirteen-episode season. Rachelle Lefevre plays Madeline Scott, a fierce and uncompromising criminal defense lawyer who runs an underdog firm and takes on cases others have given up on. She was wrongfully convicted at eighteen, alongside her brother Levi Scott (Riley Smith), in a sensational murder case, so every client she defends becomes a mirror of her own fight. Russell Hornsby plays Easy Boudreau, a member of her team, and Kelsey Grammer plays Gore Bellows, a formidable opposing presence in the courtroom. The engine of the show is simple and personal: Madeline must win cases for strangers while running down the real killer in her own file, and each episode braids a new courtroom battle with that buried mystery. Its tone is earnest and tense, with the grit of a case-of-the-week procedural and a serialized thread that keeps pulling toward her own past. Fans of The Good Wife and Damages will find resonance in its legal intrigue, morally charged litigation and the lone lawyer against a corrupt system.
