## Synopsis

The InBetween (2019) is an American network supernatural crime series created by Moira Kirland for NBC. Cassie Bedford (Harriet Dyer) is a young woman who has visions she never asked for, and she is pulled into police work when her father, Detective Tom Hackett (Paul Blackthorne), and his new partner, former FBI agent Damien Asante (Justin Cornwell), need help with stubborn cases. Her gift brings her into contact with unsettled spirits who need her help, so every episode blends a conventional investigation with a haunting that has to be understood before it can be laid to rest. Lieutenant Swanstrom (Anne-Marie Johnson) and detective Maria Salinas (Cindy Luna) keep the squad grounded in the rain-soaked, gray streets of Seattle, where the procedural grind meets the uneasy pull of the supernatural. The series runs one season of ten episodes and was canceled after its first run. Its engine is simple and effective: Cassie wants a normal life, the dead keep demanding attention, and the police want results. The tone is brooding and earnest, with a case-of-the-week rhythm and a steady undercurrent of personal strain between a daughter and a father who both carry hard memories. Fans of Medium, Bones and Ghost Whisperer will find resonance in its mix of gifted outsider, family loyalty and spectral crime-solving.
