## Synopsis

Sorry for Your Loss (2018-2019) is an American dark comedy drama series created by Kit Steinkellner for Facebook Watch. Elizabeth Olsen plays Leigh, a young widow whose life is upended when her husband dies suddenly, leaving her to rebuild her routines and relationships while working at a fitness studio. Janet McTeer plays her mother-in-law Amy, while Jovan Adepo, Mamoudou Athie and Kelly Marie Tran play close friends and family members who each handle the loss in their own uneven ways. The engine of the series is Leigh's attempt to function through everyday obligations like teaching classes, facing awkward condolence visits and managing family tensions, while she begins to uncover a side of her husband she never knew. Each episode is built from small, sharp domestic moments rather than big set pieces, and the show runs for two seasons of ten half-hour episodes each as one continuing story. The tone blends wry, uncomfortable humor with tender, raw emotion, and the grief is handled with honesty rather than sentiment. Set in contemporary Los Angeles, the series has a grounded, intimate feel. Fans of Dead to Me, Shrinking and This Is Us will find resonance in its mix of comedy and heartbreak.
