## Synopsis

Roswell, New Mexico (2019-2022) is an American sci-fi romance series created by Carina Adly MacKenzie for The CW, a reboot of the late-1990s teen favorite. Liz Ortecho, the daughter of undocumented immigrants, returns reluctantly to her tourist-trap hometown and reconnects with her teenage crush Max Evans, now a police officer who hides an unearthly identity. Michael Guerin, Maria DeLuca and Isobel Evans-Bracken are part of the wider circle of friends who share the secret. Liz works to protect Max while the pair investigate his origins, and each season is built around a violent attack or a government cover-up that points to a larger alien presence on Earth. The series runs four seasons of thirteen episodes as one continuing story that mixes case-driven investigation with long-form romantic tension. Set in the present-day Southwest, it blends the texture of a small desert town with the rising politics of fear directed at outsiders. Its tone is earnest, romantic and wistful, with a steady undercurrent of dread. Fans of Roswell (1999), Smallville and Dark Matter will find resonance in its mix of teen-era nostalgia, found family and paranoid conspiracy. The show was canceled after its fourth season, leaving the central mystery open.
