## Synopsis

Conspiracy of Silence (2018) is a Swedish crime drama miniseries created by Charlotte Brändström for Viaplay. Jens Hultén plays Robert Kastell, a man presumed dead for thirty years who comes back to Sweden after a personal tragedy pulls him out of exile on a last journey of revenge. Around him, Vera Vitali plays Åsa Schiller Fantuzzi, Halina Reijn plays Maggie Van Haal, and Krister Henriksson plays Marianne-Martin Lindhe, each drawn into a web of arms dealing, old debts and hidden loyalties. The engine of the story is Robert's pursuit of those responsible while the people around him are pulled into the fallout. Told as a single eight-episode limited series of roughly 45 minutes each, it moves in a tightly plotted, serialized line rather than a case-of-the-week format. The tone is tense, cold and morally weighted, with dread and grief running beneath each confrontation. Set in present-day Sweden, it has the austere, rain-washed feel of Scandinavian crime television. Fans of The Killing, Wallander and Bodyguard will find resonance in its brooding conspiracy and its wounded, unforgiving protagonist.
