## Synopsis

The Beauty Inside (2018) is a South Korean romance drama series created by Im Mea-ri for JTBC. Across sixteen one-hour episodes in a single season, the story follows Han Se-kye (Seo Hyun-jin), a top actress who transforms into someone else for one week every month, and Seo Do-jae (Lee Min-ki), an airline director who suffers from prosopagnosia and cannot recognize faces. Their romance is the engine of the show, pitting a love that must survive constant physical change against the practical obstacles of work, reputation, and the people around them. Supporting roles from Lee Da-hee, Ahn Jae-hyun, and Lee Tae-ri widen the scope into a secondary couple and a web of workplace and family ties set in contemporary Seoul. The tone is warm, wistful, and sincere, with gentle humor and a melancholic undercurrent about identity and recognition. Its fantastical premise is handled with an intimate, character-first sensibility, closer to the emotional register of Goblin and Your Name than to genre spectacle. Fans of Korean romance dramas and quietly fantastical love stories will find much to savor here.
