## Synopsis

My Little Girl (2018-2019) is a Turkish family drama created by Gökçen Usta, Merve Girgin and Fatih Aksoy for TV8. Across a single season of 34 two-hour episodes, it follows Öykü Tekin (Beren Gökyıldız), an eight-year-old girl whose caregiver aunt abandons her, leaving her to search for her father. That father, Demir Göktürk (Buğra Gülsoy), is an irresponsible swindler raised in an orphanage, and he is released from custody on the condition that he look after the daughter he has just met. Demir and his partner-in-crime Uğur (Tugay Mercan) want to be rid of her while they prepare a big con aimed at Candan Hoşgör (Leyla Lydia Tuğutlu), whose quiet life conceals a painful past. The engine of the story is the reluctant bond forming between a hardened criminal and a perceptive child who notices everything around her while hiding a secret of her own. Each episode mixes domestic scenes, schemes and gradually converging lives, producing a tone that is tender, melodramatic and emotionally heavy. Viewers who enjoy Turkish melodrama, father and daughter stories and character-driven family drama will find resonance here, in the spirit of Little Angel and Mare of Easttown.
