## Synopsis

Star Trek: Short Treks (2018-2020) is a US science fiction anthology series created by Alex Kurtzman and Bryan Fuller for CBS All Access. Running two seasons and ten episodes of roughly fifteen minutes each, it offers stand-alone stories that orbit the Star Trek: Discovery universe and the wider franchise. Each installment follows a different corner of Starfleet life, using brief runtimes to explore a key character or a single dilemma rather than a continuing plotline. Rainn Wilson plays Harry Mudd, Doug Jones plays Saru, and Mary Wiseman plays Sylvia Tilly, and their appearances give fans familiar faces to follow. The tone is hopeful and exploratory, grounded in Federation ideals about curiosity, duty and the ethics of contact with unknown worlds, with artificial intelligence, first contact and falling in love among the recurring concerns. Episodes unfold aboard starships and on alien frontiers in a far-future setting. Fans of Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Trek: Discovery and Black Mirror will find resonance in its compact, idea-driven storytelling. Its brisk, accessible format suits viewers new to the franchise as well as longtime devotees.
