## Synopsis

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (2018-present) is a Japanese isekai animated series created for Nippon TV and produced by 8bit, based on the light novel by Fuse. After a corporate worker is stabbed and reborn in a fantasy world as a slime, he takes the name Rimuru and sets out to build a community where monsters of every kind can live together. Rimuru, voiced by Tomoaki Maeno in a performance that gives the shapeless hero surprising warmth, is joined by principal characters voiced by Makoto Furukawa as the loyal Benimaru and Mao Ichimichi as Shion. The engine of the show is diplomacy and craft: forging alliances between goblins, orcs, and other tribes, settling disputes, and growing a village into a nation one episode at a time. Across four seasons of twenty-four episodes each, the series moves as a serialized fantasy saga with standalone comic detours and expanding political stakes. Its tone is cheerful and affectionate, with broad slapstick humor balanced against bursts of violent conflict. Fans of Overlord, Konosuba, and Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation will find the same blend of isekai escapism and lighthearted world building.
