## Synopsis

Blinded by the Lights (2018) is a Polish crime drama miniseries created by Jakub Żulczyk and Krzysztof Skonieczny for HBO, adapted from a novel. Kamil Nożyński plays Kuba Nitecki, a cocaine dealer whose meticulously organized existence in Warsaw begins to fracture as he is pushed into the most consequential decisions of his life. Jan Frycz, Robert Więckiewicz and Marta Malikowska appear among the principal cast as figures tied to his criminal and personal worlds. Across eight episodes of roughly fifty-five minutes each, the story charts seven days of escalating pressure, with each hour tightening the grip of debts, loyalties and rivalries around him. The engine is simple and relentless: a man who has always controlled every detail must now survive a situation he cannot plan his way out of. The series unfolds as one continuous, tightly plotted arc rather than a case-of-the-week format, making it a compact, immersive viewing experience. Its setting is contemporary Warsaw, where the rap music scene and nightlife overlap with the drug trade and its political and mafia connections. The mood is tense, gritty and bleak, with moments of friendship and dark humor. Fans of Breaking Bad, Gomorra and Narcos will find resonance in its portrait of a criminal life coming apart.
