## Synopsis

The Twilight Zone (2019-2020) is a United States anthology series created by Simon Kinberg, Jordan Peele, Rod Serling and Marco Ramirez for CBS All Access. Jordan Peele hosts each self-contained tale as a revival of Rod Serling's classic format, and the cast of recurring and guest actors includes Sanaa Lathan, Adam Scott, Kumail Nanjiani, Tracy Morgan and Damson Idris, who appear in individual episodes rather than one continuing storyline. Across two seasons of ten episodes each, every installment introduces new characters placed in a strange situation that tests their assumptions about themselves and the people around them. The engine of each episode is a premise that turns ordinary frustrations into speculative dread, with the reveal arriving through a sharp reversal near the close. Set in the present-day United States, the stories blend science fiction, fantasy and occult horror, producing a register that is eerie, sardonic and socially pointed. Its tone mixes unsettling dread with moral irony and a sense of cosmic unease. Viewers who enjoy Black Mirror and Tales from the Crypt will recognize the same appetite for allegorical, twist-driven storytelling, though this revival is more overtly concerned with contemporary identity and prejudice.
