## Synopsis

Dirty John (2018-2020) is a United States cable crime drama anthology series created by Alexandra Cunningham for USA Network and Bravo. Each two-season installment adapts a real true crime story of love gone wrong. The first season follows Debra Newell (Connie Britton), a Southern California interior designer who falls for the charming John Meehan (Eric Bana), a man whose warmth hides a calculating and dangerous agenda. Her wary daughter Terra (Julia Garner) and younger daughter Veronica (Juno Temple) become the focus as the family's unease grows and Debra's desire for affection collides with mounting suspicion. The second season turns to Betty Broderick (Amanda Peet), a wealthy San Diego woman whose marriage to attorney Dan Broderick (Christian Slater) sours into bitter, escalating vengeance. Each season unfolds across eight episodes, with a steady build of domestic tension, grounded procedural detail, and rising dread. The tone is tense, bleak, and unsettling, with sharp emotional confrontations between spouses, lovers, and children. Fans of The Act, American Crime Story, and The Stepfather will find resonance in its portrait of manipulation, privilege, and the chilling cost of obsessive love.
