## Synopsis

Victim Number 8 (2018) is a Spanish crime drama series created by Marc Cistaré and Sara Antuña and broadcast on ETB2, produced in the Basque Country. Set in present-day Bilbao, it follows a police investigation into a jihadist attack in the city's old town that kills seven people and injures more than thirty. The story centers on Police Commissary Muguruza (Jesús Ruyman), who leads the hunt for those responsible, while the investigation moves through the lives of the attack's survivors and the people around them. Principal cast includes César Mateo as Omar, María de Nati as Edurne, Verónika Moral as Koro, Iñaki Ardanaz as Gaizka, Farah Hamed as Adila, and Khaled Kouka as Ibrahim, with Alfonso Torregrosa playing José María Azkarate. The eight-episode run is a single limited season of roughly fifty-five minutes per episode, built around a steady accumulation of evidence, interrogations and personal fallout. Its tone is tense, sober and emotionally raw, with a focus on grief, suspicion and the strain placed on a community. Fans of Bodyguard, The Fall and Spotlight will find resonance in its procedural rigor and its attention to how violence reshapes a city.
