## What critics say

Critics found the single season generic and largely forgettable, with the sitcom offering little distinction within the familiar family-comedy format.

## Synopsis

Fam is a single-season multi-camera family sitcom built around a crowded household and the friction that follows when a difficult adult child arrives unannounced. Fed up with her demanding father, Clem moves in with her older half-sister Shannon and Shannon's fiance Jay, turning their home into a stage for awkward dinners, cramped shared space, and clashing expectations. Each episode grows from small domestic collisions that escalate into quarrels, with comedy drawn from mismatched personalities who must learn to coexist. The parents, played by Sheryl Lee Ralph and Brian Stokes Mitchell, keep old wounds active through their presence and opinions. The show follows a conventional sitcom rhythm with a laugh track and sets that feel stage-bound. Its tone is breezy and sardonic, with warm moments beneath the bickering that hint at reluctant closeness. Viewers who enjoy Happy Endings, Dharma and Greg, or Me, Myself and I will find a familiar pleasure in tight domestic comedy about family chaos, imperfect loyalty, and the comfort of messy relatives.
