## Synopsis

The Degenerates (2018-2019) is an American stand-up comedy showcase created for Netflix, running two seasons and twelve half-hour specials. Each installment spotlights a different comic performer, including Jim Norton, Nikki Glaser, Robert Kelly, Donnell Rawlings and Patricia Williams, who work the stage with unfiltered monologues about sex, bodily taboos and the seedier corners of everyday life. Rather than following a continuing story, the format relies on the rhythm of each set, the crowd reactions and the rapid turnover of voices from one special to the next. The tone is brash, profane and unapologetically adult, aimed at viewers who want comedy that refuses to be polite. Its stage-bound presentation is spare and direct, with the focus resting entirely on the performers and their material. Fans of Comedy Central Presents, Louie and Chappelle's Show will find a similar appetite for raw, uncensored standup. Its mature content and irreverent energy make it a late-night pick for viewers who like their comedy blunt and boundary-testing.
