## Synopsis

What We Do in the Shadows (2019-2024) is an American mockumentary comedy series created by Jemaine Clement for FX. Adapted from the 2014 film of the same name, it follows a household of ancient vampires sharing a crumbling house in Staten Island, New York. Nandor the Relentless (Kayvan Novak), a former crusader who still clings to medieval pride, leads a flatmate group that includes Laszlo Cravensworth (Matt Berry), the perpetually squabbling dandy, and Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), his fiercely competitive wife. Their long-suffering human servant Guillermo de la Cruz (Harvey Guillen) keeps the house running while dreaming of his own supernatural future. The engine of each ten-episode season is mundane frustration: chores, feuds, rent, and the ever-present need to feed, all shot as confessional interviews with a documentary crew. Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch), an energy vampire working a dull office job, adds a deadpan workplace layer. The tone is breezy, absurd and gently affectionate, with dry wit and awkward timing carrying the laughs. Across six seasons it stays a steady, character-driven sitcom. Fans of The Office, Parks and Recreation and Wellington Paranormal will find resonance here.
