## Synopsis

Mekk Elek, az ezermester (1974-1975) is a Hungarian children's puppet series created by József Romhányi for Magyar Televízió. Its protagonist is Mekk Elek, a handyman goat voiced by Péter Balázs, whose well-meaning attempts at fixing things around the farmyard keep spiralling into trouble. Supporting voices from Szuhay Balázs as the parrot Flórián add quick banter, while guest puppet characters such as Apakos, Koca mama and Szamár drop into single episodes. The show is built from thirteen short episodes of roughly seven minutes each, every one a self-contained misadventure driven by a practical problem and a chain of comic missteps. Its tone is gentle, playful and warm, with a light slapstick energy suited to young viewers and family viewing. Presented in the modest, handmade style of 1970s Central European puppetry, the series feels nostalgic and cozy. Fans of The Muppet Show, Bagpuss and The Clangers will find similar charm in its handcrafted puppet world and kindly humor.
