## Synopsis

The Undoing (2020) is an American limited series created by David E. Kelley for HBO. Nicole Kidman plays Grace Fraser, a Manhattan therapist whose comfortable life with oncologist husband Jonathan (Hugh Grant) and their son Henry (Noah Jupe) comes apart overnight when a violent death opens a chasm of terrible revelations. As a very public scandal spreads through the city, Grace must dismantle the life she built and create a new one for her child and family, while investigator Joe Mendoza (Edgar Ramírez) circles the case. The engine of the story is suspicion: every new discovery reframes the marriage and forces Grace to question what she knows. Told across six hour-long episodes, it is one continuing mystery where each installment peels back another layer of secrets. Set in present-day Manhattan, the series carries a glossy, upscale surface that cracks steadily into unease. Its tone is tense, intimate and psychologically probing, with a strong focus on performance, trust and the fragility of a privileged domestic world. Fans of Big Little Lies, The Night Of and Sharp Objects will find resonance in its blend of elite settings, marital secrets and slow-building dread.
