## Synopsis

Andor (2022-2025) is a Disney+ science fiction political thriller created by Tony Gilroy and set in the Star Wars universe as a prequel to Rogue One. Diego Luna stars as Cassian Andor, a scrappy petty thief who slowly becomes a rebel hero, with Stellan Skarsgård as the enigmatic covert organizer Luthen Rael and Genevieve O'Reilly as the political operative Mon Mothma. Across two seasons of twelve episodes each, Cassian's engine is simple and pressing: he wants to protect the people he loves while navigating a galaxy where every ally may be an informant and every favor carries a price. The series is built as a serialized, slow-building story rather than a series of battles, with cell meetings, interrogations, sabotage and backroom bargaining making up its episodes. Its setting is a grounded, bureaucratic galaxy under the tyrannical Galactic Empire, with flashbacks that deepen Cassian's childhood and reveal how his conscience was forged. The tone is tense, gritty and melancholic, with a measured pace that rewards patient viewers. Fans of Rogue One, Battlestar Galactica and The Man in the High Castle will find resonance in its political intrigue, moral compromise and the cost of resistance.
