## Synopsis

Encounter (2018-2019) is a South Korean romantic drama created by Yu Young-ah for tvN, produced by Studio Dragon. Song Hye-kyo plays Cha Su-hyeon, a woman with a great deal to lose, and Park Bo-gum plays Kim Jin-hyeok, a man with little to his name, whose chance meeting overseas turns into an unexpected reunion when they meet again as employer and employee. Jang Seung-jo appears as Jung U-seok, adding a further pull on the central emotional triangle. The engine of the series is the tension between wealth and affection: each episode works through the practical and social obstacles the leads face, from a disapproving parent to the pressures of a business world built on status. Shaped as a single sixteen-episode season, it moves in a steady serialized arc where the romance builds through small, careful moments. Set in contemporary Seoul, its tone is wistful and yearning, with a melancholic undercurrent and warm, glossy visuals. Fans of Crash Landing on You and Hotel del Luna will find resonance in its blend of class-divided romance and quiet longing.
