## Synopsis

Wayne (2019) is a US streaming drama created by Shawn Simmons for YouTube Premium. Sixteen year old Wayne (Mark McKenna) and his new crush Del (Ciara Bravo) ride dirt bikes across a gritty working class Massachusetts landscape in search of a 1978 Pontiac Trans Am that was stolen from his father before the father died. Their quest pits the two teenagers against the world, and each episode is built around the scrapes, pursuits and confrontations that come with taking back something precious by force. Principal supporting figures include Dean Winters as Bobby and Mike O'Malley as Cole, adults whose motives tangle with the pair's. The show runs for a single ten episode season of roughly thirty four minutes each, and it plays as a bloody, profane action story with flashes of humor and a warm sense of loyalty. Its tone is raw and propulsive, while its heart lies in the bond between two outsiders who have little but each other. Fans of Stranger Things, Sons of Anarchy and Mid90s will find resonance in its coming of age energy, its bruised working class atmosphere and its blunt, unsentimental violence.
