## Synopsis

Selection Day (2018-2019) is an Indian scripted teen sports drama created by Marston Bloom for Netflix. Across a single season of twelve roughly forty-four minute episodes, it follows two cricket prodigies, brothers Manju Kumar (Mohammad Samad) and Radha Kumar (Yash Shashank Dholye), as they push against their overbearing father Mohan Kumar (Rajesh Tailang) and a selection system that seems rigged against them. Their goal is to build their own cricket futures and identities rather than the paths their father has mapped out, and the obstacles arrive in the form of coaching politics, rivalries and the pressure of a demanding household. Each episode moves through training grounds, matches and domestic arguments in the crowded streets of Mumbai, with supporting figures such as coach Tommy Sir (Mahesh Manjrekar) and Javed Ansari (Karanvir Malhotra) shaping the brothers' choices. The tone is earnest and emotionally grounded, mixing hope and frustration with a strong sense of family loyalty. Fans of Friday Night Lights, Chak De! India and Dangal will find resonance in its portrait of young athletes fighting for self-determination against institutions and parents alike.
