## Synopsis

Dollface (2019-2022) is an American comedy series created by Jordan Weiss for Hulu. After being dumped by her longtime boyfriend, Jules (Kat Dennings) must rebuild her social life and rekindle the female friendships she drifted away from. Her circle includes Stella Cole (Shay Mitchell), Izzy (Esther Povitsky) and Madison Maxwell (Brenda Song), and the show follows their messy, candid conversations about dating, sex, work and loyalty. Jules has to contend with her own vivid imagination, which keeps supplying fantasies and self-sabotaging scenarios as she tries to find her footing again. The series runs two seasons of ten half-hour episodes each, built around ongoing character arcs rather than standalone cases. Its tone is raunchy, self-aware and warm, with sharp dialogue and cringe-prone humor that never loses sight of the friendships at its core. Fans of Insecure, Fleabag and Broad City will find resonance in its frank portrait of modern young women figuring out who they are after a breakup. It is a contemporary urban comedy set in present-day American cities, and the emotional payoff comes from watching the friends show up for one another.
