## Synopsis

The Society (2019) is an American Netflix teen survival drama created by Christopher Keyser. When the students of West Ham high return from a school camping trip, they find their wealthy town completely emptied, its exits blocked and outside communication cut off. Kathryn Newton plays Allie Pressman, Alex Fitzalan plays Harry Bingham, and Jack Mulhern plays Gareth 'Grizz' Visser, all navigating a fragile new order without parents or teachers. The engine of the series is a practical struggle: the group must divide labor, ration resources, and settle disputes while a murder demands an investigation. Each episode pushes alliances and personal boundaries to a breaking point. The show runs for a single ten-episode season of roughly fifty minutes each, and its shape is one continuing story rather than a case of the week. Set in a contemporary American suburb, its atmosphere is claustrophobic and tense, with a dark, unsettling mood. Fans of Lord of the Flies, Yellowjackets and The Leftovers will find resonance in its study of youth, power and grief under pressure.
