## Synopsis

Blood (2018-2020) is an Irish television family drama created by Sophie Petzal for Virgin Media One. Cat Hogan (Carolina Main) returns to West Meath after her mother Mary Hogan's sudden death, and the question of whether that death was an accident or something darker hangs over every scene. Her father Jim Hogan (Adrian Dunbar) sits at the centre of a household where old secrets and older betrayals keep resurfacing, while Dez Breen (Sean Duggan), Michael Hogan (Diarmuid Noyes) and the Crowley and Mooney families circle the same buried history. The engine of the show is a steady accumulation of half-truths, shifting alliances and quiet manipulations, with each episode peeling back another layer of what relatives have been hiding from one another. Told across two seasons of six episodes each, it is a serialized mystery in which the drama grows from kitchen-table confrontations, funerals and rural gossip rather than action. The tone is brooding, claustrophobic and emotionally raw, with a melancholic Irish landscape reflecting the characters' isolation. Fans of Broadchurch, Ozark and Twin Peaks will find the same slow-burn dread and tangled family loyalties at its core.
