## Synopsis

Now Apocalypse (2019) is an American surreal comedy series created by Gregg Araki for STARZ, a single-season limited run of ten half-hour episodes. Avan Jogia plays Ulysses, a young man whose search for love, sex and fame runs through dating-app encounters and party nights alongside his friends Carly (Kelli Berglund), Ford (Beau Mirchoff) and Severine (Roxane Mesquida). Each episode follows one of their quests, from fleeting hookups to half-realized romances, but Ulysses is increasingly haunted by foreboding premonitory dreams that hint at a dark and monstrous conspiracy. The engine is the gap between his appetites and his unease: he cannot tell whether the visions are a real threat or simply the effect of smoking too much weed. The show is set in contemporary Los Angeles youth culture and carries the bright, saturated look of a pop-art fever dream. Its tone shifts between breezy, candid sexual comedy and paranoid dread, with a surreal, irreverent wit throughout. Fans of Euphoria, Girls and the absurdist strangeness of Twin Peaks will find resonance in its mix of hedonism and foreboding. The series was canceled with its story left open.
