## Synopsis

AJ and the Queen (2020) is a American comedy-drama series created by RuPaul and Michael Patrick King for Netflix. Drag queen Ruby Red (RuPaul) and AJ (Izzy G.), a tough-talking ten-year-old stowaway, cross the country together in a battered recreational vehicle, and the engine of the show is the awkward, often hilarious process of two very different people becoming a makeshift family. Ruby is pulled into a journey she never planned, while AJ brings her own defensive streak and unvarnished honesty to every stop. Louis Bell, known as Cocoa Butter (Michael-Leon Wooley), and Hector Ramirez, known as Damien Sanchez (Josh Segarra), are among the drag performers and figures whose lives intersect with theirs along the way, while Brianna Douglas (Katerina Tannenbaum) anchors AJ's world back home. Each episode is built from a fresh stop, a fresh set of obstacles, and a fresh chance for the pair to test their bond. The series runs for one season of ten episodes of roughly fifty-two minutes each, a single continuing story that was canceled after its first run. Its tone is absurd yet warm, breezy and tender, with moments that tip toward real emotion, and it is a Netflix production rooted in the drag scene. Fans of Little Miss Sunshine, Pose and Sense8 will find resonance in its mix of road trip comedy and queer found family warmth.
