## Synopsis

The Shivering Truth (2018-2020) is an American adult animated anthology series created by Vernon Chatman for Adult Swim. Its twelve episodes of roughly eleven minutes each, split across two seasons, are loosely linked parables told in gooey, breath-slapping stop motion. Vernon Chatman voices most of the segments, and the cast includes Julio Torres as Dale, along with Kate Berlant, Jason Mantzoukas, Ego Nwodim, Alia Shawkat and Kate Micucci in guest voice roles. Rather than following a single protagonist through a steady plot, each story pushes a fable within a fable, where dream logic and emotional stakes drive the absurd turns. The format is a rapid, propulsive omnibus of daymares that gradually reveals a sincere heart beneath the strangeness. Its look is tactile and handmade, dripping with orange goo, and its narration carries the fuzzy intimacy of late night radio monologues. The tone is surreal, irreverent and wistful, and the themes center on memory, longing and the stories people tell themselves. Fans of Love, Death & Robots, Rick and Morty and Moral Orel will find resonance in its mix of adult humor and handmade strangeness.
