## Synopsis

Manhunt (2019-2021) is a British true crime police procedural series created by Ed Whitmore and Colin Sutton for ITV1. Martin Clunes stars as London Metropolitan Police detective Colin Sutton, a real investigator whose career is dramatized here, with Claudie Blakley as Louise Sutton, the wife whose home life bears the strain of his work. The engine of the show is the long, patient hunt for serial criminals, with Sutton and his team building cases through interviews, forensic leads and dead ends, so that each episode turns on slow, grinding progress rather than quick reveals. Across two seasons and seven episodes of roughly fifty minutes each, the series moves as one continuing investigation with a documentary-like grounding. Set in contemporary London, it is a grounded, serious drama with a tense, methodical register and a melancholy undercurrent about the human cost of relentless police work. Fans of Mindhunter, The Fall and Line of Duty will find resonance in its procedural realism, its focus on investigators, and its restrained approach to violent crime. The result is a measured, character-driven true crime drama that rewards patient viewing.
