## Synopsis

Moscow Noir (2018) is a Swedish-language crime thriller series created by Piodor Gustafsson for C More, a single-season run of eight roughly 45-minute episodes. Swedish investment banker Tom Blixen (Adam Pålsson) arrives in turn-of-the-century Moscow expecting a routine trade and finds himself pulled into a dangerous world of millionaires, politicians and oligarchs. Around him orbit figures such as Kruglov (Gediminas Storpirštis), Rebecka Ekholm (Linda Zilliacus) and Lord Pendergast (Brian McCardie), each with their own stake in the city's shifting money and loyalties. The engine of the series is Blixen's attempt to protect himself and his position while every favor he accepts binds him more tightly to private armies and corrupt deals. Episodes build a steady sense of paranoia through boardroom negotiations, back-room meetings and sudden violence on the streets. Adapted from a novel, it blends financial drama with noir atmosphere, a bleak and tense register, and the lawless energy of 1990s Russia. Fans of Ozark, Occupied and The Bridge will find resonance in its morally compromised characters and tightly wound plotting.
