## Synopsis

Tidying Up with Marie Kondo (2019) is an American reality makeover series created for Netflix, produced by The Jackal Group and hosted by tidying expert Marie Kondo. Across eight episodes of roughly forty minutes each, Kondo visits households buried under years of accumulated belongings and works through each space with her, helping clients sort, thank, and discard items until only what sparks joy remains. The engine of every episode is the emotional weight of possessions: a cluttered closet, a stacked kitchen, or a crowded family room becomes the site of a conversation about what people are holding onto and why. Kondo's gentle, patient manner, along with her soft-spoken interactions with families, gives the show a warm, reflective atmosphere that is more coaching than confrontation. Each episode builds toward a visible transformation, and the format is a self-contained case of the week, so viewers can dip in at any point. The tone is calm, sincere and quietly hopeful, with a steady focus on gratitude, well-being and the calm of a tidy home. Fans of Queer Eye and Hoarders will find the same appeal in watching domestic spaces change alongside the people who live in them, and the show offers a soothing counterpart to more chaotic home renovation programs.
